Let's not use this thread to debate. The concept of blackfishing has been laid out in the OP, and we can add a more detailed version as well, but this thread isn't meant to argue the finer details. Discussions around anti-asian racism or other types of racebending don't belong here either.
Guys, we've already discussed the misgendering issue, including input from Nyx. All arguments for either side have been covered over and over again. We're not going to police our users on how to address Rin and to continue the debate counts as infighting.
The first user is right, we don't need updates on all the bandwagon jumpers. Every popular look will be copied. You can make a thread about all kinds of skinwalkers/copycats if you like and post comparisons in there, but it doesn't belong in this thread.
Thank you for summarizing it, and that's really all I meant as well - of course it's not cause to get into legal trouble, I just thought it was stubborn and petty to still use the number when it has no significance other than being the vaguest of callbacks to Mars. I know it's "established" now, but it still rubbed me the wrong way - just let it go already. It's really not that hard to come up with this pseudo-deep bullshit, and their brand is all over the place now anyway, so they might as well come up with new stuff.
Guys, remember that NSFW images need to be spoilered. There's been a ton of barely covered nudes on the past few pages. You also can not use PULL to organize mass reporting sprees. This is a forum for discussion, not intervention.
How does it stop being a reference just because they've used it a lot? The origins don't change even if they try to "reclaim" it. It's not a big deal either way and they probably just don't care enough to try to establish a different number into their "lore", but it's still a reference. I just expected that by now they'd start dropping that kind of thing, but I suppose it's vague enough not to count.
I agree that the whole "titty in mouth" thing is being exaggerated. Boundaries break down when you're in a long-term sexual relationship and they both obviously share the same kind of humor. I doubt it's a kink thing either. Just messing around. Anyway nobody felt violated, so no harm done.
Cool, so even now they're still making references to Mars. And the whole pay-to-play scheme is, again, such proof they think their fans are dumbasses for fangirling over their ~deep and critical~ concept while paying pocket money for online rewards.
Catering to "odd" fetishes is commonplace now, it really helps with putting off full nudity and depictions of sexual acts. But on that note, a lot of people in this thread (not you) seem to have absolutely no understanding of porn and/or the "male gaze" Belle is utilizing in her content. PSA: If Belle bouncing her ass against a shower door to simulate sex makes you this befuddled and bewildered, maybe you shouldn't be in a thread about a sex worker. I hope y'all are of age.
It makes sense considering Belle loves Shoe0nhead which is a Boxxy skinwalker who yells at a low-resolution webcam about how much she hates feminism and how being a woman means living life on easy mode while men are poor, oppressed babies, because, as Shoe put it, "women can make a living just by having a vagina". They both exhibit the exact traits they criticize when they talk about this "easy mode": They make a fortune by using their looks (which, in both cases, are naturally cute but enhanced up to 11 for their online personas) and parroting memes and ~controversial~ opinions, larping as pure innocent waifus dedicated to serving men, while fuming about feminism and how men need to be rescued from evil whores - like that one user who paid Belle to flirt with him and ended up leaving his gf because Belle told him she wasn't good enough for him. It's all perfect incel bait. They're two birds of a feather.
REMINDER TO EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD: If you post NSFW images without a spoiler, your post will be hidden. I'm not going to keep editing posts to hide the nudes and porn. The spoiler feature can be used by clicking the EYE ICON in the post formatting bar. I hope this answers all questions.
There's definitely been a massive change in forum culture, speaking as someone who lurked from the beginning. Nyx and I have discussed this with each other too. This site is neither a call-out blog where each thread subject must be held to PC standards to get a passing grade, nor a place for fangirling and whiteknighting. Another issue is that serious topics are often cast aside in favor of nitpicking very personal and subjective points. We're not quite sure how to tackle this issue considering the vast amount of users who are pushing this atmosphere, but we're aware of it and are trying to work it out. Of course that doesn't mean going full "hate site", but PULL is a gossip community first and foremost. That will always hurt some feelings.
Lately we've had requests to censor specific a specific thread to bury a flake's own bad decision with loud calls to "listen to what the users want" - infighting, downvotes, endless discussions about being more understanding because the flake graced us with her presence and tugged at some heartstrings - up until the mood shifted again days later and now things are okay all of a sudden. If we listened to every outcry like this, the site might as well be shut down. This really stayed on my mind because it was such a big push for us to change the nature of the forum for this one person, it made me wonder why such people even sign up on PULL. I think there's a large disconnect between what newer users want PULL to be and what it was intended to be. A lot of it is just that the site has grown so, so much bigger with an influx of people from specific circles, who personally participate in the same subcultures they criticize and as such take many things very personally and very to heart, as if they're the ones being criticized.
Eh, I'm not impressed with the new video. timing - Rin had to get dropped by multiple companies to make this video?platitudes and obvious-isms - "never side with the rapist" lmao thanks for that pearl of wisdom?asserting themselves as someone trustworthy when they did nothing to establish themselves as such, outside of RTing woke tweets - "I'm an ally, you can come to me with this, this is so important" repeating it over and over won't change how people see you now.omitting important topics - what about Daniel? what about your lies? the salty tweets?that rambling bit where Rin apologizes to the victim directly right after saying she didn't want to talk to Rin at all... so it's clearly performative then if the victim doesn't want to be in contact and likely won't watch the video either.
