It seems like the assistant has been hired to do what e-san used to do - follow Taylor around and film her. So now that e-san is back in HK and busy running his business, she needs someone else to follow her around and film her? I like the assistant so far, she’s more entertaining and engaging in her conversations than e-san ever was, and she has a nice voice. It’s also nice to see Taylor interacting with someone in her video, instead of just rambling by herself at home. I have no idea what’s going on with Taylor’s super unflattering facial expression on the thumbnail though?
I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a white-knight of their relationship I find them interesting to watch, I like their dynamic and interactions, I think EB-san is kind to Taylor and treats her well despite her being relatively clueless and has no discernible skills (ok, her cooking isn’t too bad) I also agree with the comments above that she probably chooses what to show us, and it’s always him being exasperated cos she thinks her viewers find it funny. In her birthday video, she filmed her new bracelet, saying “he wants me to show you the present he got me” (or something like that). He had to ask her specifically to film when he did something nice. ... which makes me think Taylor doesn’t always show us when EB is being nice, and only shows their interactions when she thinks it might be funny.
^ I agree. Saying Elbow-san is being mentally abusive just cos he made a comment about her makeup is a massive exaggeration. I would say he was a little bit insensitive, but definitely not emotionally abusive A slight comment like “Babe it’s too red” is quite different to “You look horrible, don’t ever do this kind of makeup ever again, or else.” I would personally prefer it if my bf told me the truth about what he thinks of my makeup rather than lie about it and tell me he loves it when he secretly hates it.
Doesn’t matter how much skincare a person slaps on their skin, if they’re not healthy on the inside then it’s not gonna work I think the vlogging lifestyle promotes a bad sleeping pattern. They’re vlogging during the day and then editing til late at night, so the inconsistent sleeping pattern also contributes to the bad skin.
I agree with everyone, this video was really enjoyable. It didn’t drag on and didn’t feel like it was over 10 minutes. It was nice seeing her try out a different makeup style and it made her look more sophisticated. I’m also looking forward to her Chinese New Year video. Keep up the good work Tay
Holy shit I got so stressed watching that video. Between the extremely amplified and fucking disgusting chomping sounds, her fast movements and all the slapping and banging, and her using the mandoline without the tool that protects her fingers, I was seriously starting to get an anxiety attack. I had to stop watching after 3 minutes. Not sure how I even made it that far into the video ...
On the topic of Kim’s accent, I’m another aussie, and can also confirm that her accent is Australian. However her pronunciation of certain words is not typical of Australians or even Viet-Aussies. I have friends who are Viet-Aussies and they don’t mispronounce the TH sound as F, or ‘all’ as ‘aw’. It really grates my ears when she mispronounces ‘haul’ as ‘haw’. “Can’t wait to show you guys my haw!” As for where her money’s coming from .. she mentioned that she had a job in Japan (she never mentioned what it was). And prior to going to Japan, she said she was working 3 jobs so she could afford her trips and shopping. So I don’t doubt that she’s actually very hardworking, but I think she just might not be the best at saving money. Also, someone mentioned her boyfriend Eric is a lawyer, so maybe he’s helping out a lot with their apartment payments and bills.
Straight from wiki about the safety of century eggs:
Are you enjoying your 6 eggs worth of arsenic Yumi? Also, that thumbnail of Yumi’s face sitting amongst all the century eggs .. all that black/grey and red reminds me of sulphuric rocks and fire, like Yumi’s sitting in the firey pits of hell.
I think she likes Pokemon only because of Pokemon Go. Not sure if anybody watched her friend Nicole’s Pokémon fukubukuro video, but Nicole didn’t know any of the Pokémons she pulled out of the bag, aside from Pikachu. It actually got a bit annoying seeing her pull each plushie out of the bag and saying “I don’t know what this one is”. Tis what happens when people get into it only because of PoGo and not cause of the games. Granted, Sharla knew more pokemons than Nicole, so maybe she watched the anime or something. If not for the views, I dunno why else someone would get the Pokémon fukubukuro if they don’t even know any of the Mons aside from the ones featured in PoGo currently.
Surprisingly, I’m not finding her family as annoying this time. The last time she was there, they did incredibly annoying and stupid things like TPing her dad’s house, that hockey challenge, and just them being as loud and annoying as possible. This time around, they seem a little bit more subdued. ‘Bu-la-keh’ is still not funny though. Nana’s reaction part was very short, and most of it was just nana asking if Taylor is still modelling. And it was nice of Taylor and Elbow-san to give nana money. You can tell it means a lot to Nana and she looked very shocked and touched. To a retiree, money would be a lot more useful than some random gift that they might never use.
I personally don’t get that feeling about Elbow-san. Just from those nice letters he sent her and those baby shoes he bought, he seems to be a kind-hearted and committed long-term-relationship kinda guy. He may be rich but he doesn’t come across as someone who will carelessly throw someone to the side just cos that person’s gotten old. I believe you can tell a lot about a person in the way they treat animals, and Elbow seems pretty responsible when it comes to Rosie. If he was the type to get bored of someone because of something trivial like age, then he would probably be a lot more careless when it comes to caring for Rosie too.
Same here, I’ve stopped watching her vlogmas videos completely cos they’re friggin boring. She does the same shit in every video, same monotonous voice, doesn’t talk about anything interesting, and why is it bloody 18 minutes long?? When you know you can’t even sit thru 1 minute of the video, then there’s no hope for the other 17 mins. Goodbye Sharla. She’s talking a lot more now since her videos are so long, and I’m finding her voice to be extremely unbearable. I don’t quite know how to describe it but it sounds like she’s chilled out and slow from being high on weed but also being squashed at the same time. And I don’t know how Youtube ads work, but she’s been putting 3 ads into 12 minute videos. I know she needs the money but breaking up the video like that is really annoying for the viewer. I would be happy to sit thru 3 ads if her videos were actually interesting, but she puts zero effort into them. Thanks so much for the video summary @LuluLuna , thanks for sacrificing 18 mins of your life and having the patience to sit thru that crap so the rest of us don’t have to watch it
