does anyone else find it kind of strange that Jenn Im is following David but Ashley is not?
Anyway I hope she really did leave him because from the GG thread on her apparently he’s kind of a sleazy guy. I’ve always felt that he was kind of a bad match for her and she was more into him and enamored with him than he was into her. From the beginning of their relationship he said he thought influencers were stupid and he had no respect for them but turns out Ashley is one. It just shows how he has no respect for her job whatsoever. And he also said that he didn’t find her that attractive when they were first talking so I thought that was pretty messed up (this was from a deleted ig live). And for all the people saying this is her first relationship, he was her third relationship and I really hope she finds someone who is more in line with her personality and respects her as a person and cherishes her because I think she really deserves love and not a bunch of sleazy dudes.
i hope she uses this breakup as motivation for her videos and she gains more confidence
God someone help this girl. She has zero sense of style whatsoever whether it be in editing or in clothing and hair. First of all, I think if she dyed her hair back to a natural black or a darker brown with straightened hair and parted to one side she’d look SO much better. The color she has right now isn’t doing anything for her. Secondly, she needs to stop copying Blackpink’s style. It’s okay to get inspiration from them but to copy them directly and looking like a cheap knockoff version is kind of lame in my opinion. Develop your own sense of style, Joan. I liked her minimal, black and white style before (in her older vids) and I think if she took that minimal style and added some of the more colorful pieces she’d look really good. I think a cat eye liner would look great on her and make her look more chic and stylish. A red lip would also look great on her! I just hope she develops her own style in all aspects of her life because copying others is so boring and lazy tbh.
They look really pretty in that photo shoot! I wish they would do more interesting eye makeup looks to coordinate their outfits sometimes or maybe add cute hair clips? I like it a lot but then again I get why they don’t because they don’t like drawing attention to themselves in public
@Figuratively Satan the thing is that the idea that Asian women are submissive is highly racist stereotype and the fact that she says that about the Japanese women just plays into how she feels about them and has a lack of respect for them. Being submissive isn’t wrong or anything but generalizing that the entire Japanese woman population is--is fucked up. Also the way she talks about the men as being weird and that plays into another stereotype that Japanese people are these weird, freaky type of people.
Where does she get this idea that she’s a light skinned black girl? She’s really not? She is a darker skinned Latina, yes but a light skinned black girl she is not. Also I agree with others in that she looks like a child. She doesn’t really have an adult-like body but I think it’s because she’s short and has more of a belly with no chest (there’s nothing wrong with either of those things of course). I just hope this girl realizes that her behavior is not okay and quite frankly childish and immature? It makes us foreigners who go to Japan look bad because she’s perpetuating the stereotypes they have about us like we’re sexually promiscuous and stuff like that. I watched some of her videos and she needs to advocate for safe sex and how to protect yourself in case you don’t want to have sex with your Tinder date. It’s just so irresponsible for her to put out content talking about sex and not talking about the dangers and precautions women should take. I think a lot of young and possibly naive women watch her videos which is why I’m saying this. In regards to her latest video, it bugged me that she regards trans people as a separate category than men and women? Like trans men and trans women are still men and women. Straight people can like them as well? She talks a lot about men in Japan but rarely talks about the women in Japan (and when she does she talk bad about them like saying they’re submissive or shit like that) but I don’t know how she’d fare in the LGBT scene in Japan. As another user has mentioned I’m sure the women have higher standards unlike the men who just want to lay with a foreigner. Another thing I’d like to add is that in her Q&A with her friend Keira, Keira said that Brianna was into Asian men and Brianna became embarrassed so I think she has a fetish for Asian men. What’s with these black women fetishizing Asian men? (i.e. got7 twins, celia&sonia, and other kvloggers&jvloggers, not all black women of course, just the ones who seem very fetishy.) I don’t get it. They’re just like other men? Except Asian. lol. Also Brianna seems to talk badly about black men which is an awful thing to say about the men within your own community and reeks of self hatred tbh.
Having two channels is a bit pointless in my opinion. And a lot of fans are already subscribed to the main channel. I feel like it would be easier to create a new playlist of the new series they're going to be doing instead of creating an entirely new channel. Is it just me or does anyone get kind of mad that they aren't telling their fans something about gifts? They have amassed a TON of gifts at their meet and greets, they can't possibly have that much space in their parent's home to keep them all. I feel like they only hold these meet and greets so they can get gifts from their fans which is quite unfortunate because many of their fans are young students who probably don't have much money. I know it's not the fan's obligation to bring a gift but with the unboxing videos they show and the shoutouts the fans who gave gifts GET, then the fans feel like they have to give out gifts so they can get a SO from the twins. Idk, it just rubs me the wrong way. If I were a youtuber with a large following I would not want my fans to give me anything because I would feel bad they're spending their hard earned cash on me. Some other things that bother me are the lack of fashion DIY or styling videos. I originally subscribed to them because of those DIYs and the fact that they're completely omitting them from their main channel is unfortunate and a poor move on their part. A lot of fans are inspired by them going to a fashion school and their DIYs and the twins inspired them to pursue a career in fashion so to move the best part of their channel to a second channel is kind of sad. I also agree with everyone saying they are too close for their own comfort. I know twins irl but they are not as dependent on each other as these girls are. I would like to see a vlog where Qjin goes about her day and Qwon goes about her day once in a while. They need to interact with other people as individuals and not as twins if that makes any sense. They mentioned not getting a boyfriend unless the other has a boyfriend and I think that's kind of selfish. If one of the twins wants to be in a relationship with someone, she would have to say no until the other gets a bf too???? Come on, now. That's a bit ridiculous in my opinion because they're both individuals. They can act as individuals. Everything they do doesn't have to be as a unit. tldr; I just hope these girls come to realize a second channel is a bust and it's better to keep it on their main, they can become more of individuals, and they tell their fans to stop bringing so many gifts because a lot of the stuff can go to waste and is taking up too much space in their parent's home.
I think she's a pretty girl. It's such a shame she doesn't know how to do makeup. Every single tutorial is the same just switch the colors around a bit. I find her to be quite boring. I think her friend Tracey is pretty too. I think Jessica is more talented at makeup than her but I also don't really like Jessica's voice either. It sounds almost annoyed and preppy Valley Girl-eque.
I've been waiting for a new DIY or kpop closet but they're all vlogs which I love, but I liked seeing them design the clothes since they went to a fashion school and it's interesting to hear the different terminology they use. The cafe vlogs and events can get quite redundant. Some possibilities for new videos: Vegan What I Eat in a Day, How to Dress like (insert person/character here) from (insert TV/film/cartoon/anime), Tips and Tricks on Finding Personal Style, and whatever else. I also think it would be interesting for them to try foods and other drinks that are vegan at these cafes because they only seem to get Iced Americano or Perrier I think they look amazing with natural hair colors like how they did back at the beginning of their channel or in the photos above. I think the natural hair colors look best because they can fit a lot more clothing styles. It doesn't have to be dark browns, I love Qwon's ashy brown and the ginger hair! I personally love their style, yes some things can be a little grandma-ish and baggy for my taste but I still love how classy or edgy it can be. I agree some with some of the users above in that they really need to stop trying on earrings without cleaning them and maybe get a new camera but I am so used to seeing them film with the fish eye lens it doesn't even bother me anymore. I would like to see a different lens though to see a different perspective of the places they visit.
From what I've seen the other participants aren't that great either. I think this final round is a matter of who has the most followers that can vote for them. TBH I've seen far worse Koreaboos that are in Seoul (Edward Avila and they rave about his makeup skills). I think Kennie made some interesting looks for the competition as well. Not the average Korean makeup look.
I hope Sonia wins the competition. She really needs this boost in confidence so she can create more content. I am really excited to see her vlog in Korea. I wonder how it will go between Kennie and Sonia. I know they ralk to each other on Twitter but I wonder if they'll hang out together. I wonder if they might go to NB2 since Kennie goes there often.
Yeah I know what you mean. I didn't know they used iMovie. Their vlogs are so good I thought they used Final Cut Pro. I guess good vlogs all depends on editing style I know FCP has a lot more features than iMovie but it's amazing what you can do with a free program!
