BP made BANK with their international tour, and it should have been enough to clear any debts each member owed to the company for training. Theoretically, they would have been able to make a nice investment in luxury handbags, but I heard YG misused the money in illegal gambling?
The girls have been in many CFs since debut and they've had quite a few brand deals, so it's likely a lot of their clothing and accessories are associated with the freebies that come with that. Look at Jennie's Chanel bag collection. It's massive. Others could be corporate freebies or fan gifts, however, there are tax laws changes in SK that relate to gifting, so it's possible fans have sent them gifts, but if the laws haven't been revised since I last checked, then the value of those gifts are taxable (which is why many idols stopped accepting gifts from fans).
Prior to this law change, fansite masters would fund raise for gifts for idols and send the company a list of potential gifts the idol could pick from. That was actually quite a neat arrangement.
Anyhoodles, when these girls step outside, they are almost always guaranteed to be photographed, and those photos would be redistributed thousands of times (and probably way more but am tired and me no thinky), meaning that many brands would see value in simply giving away product to these girls or to their stylists just for the mere opportunity of the girls being photographed in it. If every photo view was worth even 50c, a $500 pair of jeans sent to an idol would pay for itself in a few hours.

Cheesecake: The bully rumours were just that; rumours. They were never proven and I honestly do not believe them.
JennyInTokyo: Disliking something someone does or the preferential treatment someone receives is not "bashing." And people had concerns about favouritism towards Jennie well before the lazy dancing scandal.

Because of the type of hair we have on our faces, it is far less likely to grow back thicker and darker, at least until you start getting older. It's a very different hair type to leg and underarm hair. The hair on our faces is vellus hair.
We tend to get darker hairs spontaneously occurring on our chin and sometimes lip as we age (mid thirties plus), so until then your hair should grow back soft and thin. It may be slightly darker, it may not. I'm OLLLLD so a very small amount of my upper lip hair comes back darker and if I hold a mirror right up to my face I can see it, but from a foot away and beyond, you can't see it.

I have. Who honestly knows what goes on behind the scenes? KPop companies are notorious for giving zero shits about the health and well being of their idols, particularly when they're on their first contract and have no bargaining power. I have my own opinions about Jennie but I'd rather her being lazy or just a shitty person than having her be sick or suffering from any kind of mental health problem and getting no help. Which is to say that even if I dislike her attitude, I genuinely hope she is okay and if anything were actually wrong that she was able to get help.

  6. itsadropbear added a post in a topic Pill swallowing HELP PLS

I know this is an old thread but someone might benefit from this: stick the pill in a spoon of honey or other syrup and swallow. My mum did that with me before I got over my fear.
I got over the pill swallowing issue when the doctor asked me if I had ever swallowed an ice cube or jelly bean whole. The answer was yes and yes and I lived through it. For me child-self, that was sufficient for me to realise that pills would not choke me. Obv it won't work for everyone. Always ask your pharmacist if the prescription can be ground, cut or comes in another form (like liquid or powder).

If she was injured it would have affected her SOLO performances. It never did. She released SOLO during this lazy dancing period but never had a single problem performing on her own stages.
She did injure her ankle in an airport (Japan, I think?) but it didn't affect her dancing.
Medical crews at concerts are pretty much the norm.

I have seen an improvement in her stage presence and outfits in the last few music shows, which I guess is a plus, but she doesn't have that charisma that Chung-ha has. Sometimes I get this feeling that she's not where she wants to be when she's on stage, like she's there reluctantly or it's not what she thought it would be. (Or maybe she thinks the song and its choreography is lame. I certainly do.)
Let's be real: she's been in two reality shows competing for roles in girl groups, and that is a hugely different atmosphere and a lot less lonely than going solo. Sometimes I wonder who made the decision for her to go solo. Was it Somi or her dad, because he seems awfully involved in her career and awfully chuffed by the attention he himself gets.

One thing I noticed was that Jennie's Instagram almost entirely featured Jennie by herself, while the others were often posting photos together (looking like they enjoy each other's company) or posting photos taken by another member or that they took of another member. Basically, it looked like Rose, Jisoo and Lisa were actually interacting and having fun together while Jennie was always absent and only ever posting photos of herself. I actually saw someone had commented on one of her IG posts that she was never pictured with the other members outside of "work" and a few days later Jennie was posting photos of and with the other members. I looked back and surely enough, it did seem to be true.
She also has more individual coverage on the BP Official IG, more brand deals, better outfits, etc. I also thought she was living in the dorm with the other members, but in SOLO diaries she seems to be living with her mom in a fancy ass, huge apartment? That's not Kpop standard if it's true. (That's actually special treatment)
There's also rumours her mom is high up in CJ E&M Entertainment and that her family is hella rich, which could in turn be a reason why she receives so much favour.
YG does promote her hard, above and beyond all other members in terms of air time, promo time, commercials and other projects.
I think she's very pretty and talented, but I've been sour on her ever since the lazy dancing episode which somehow never effected to her solo efforts (so she was not sick, tired or injured) and it is not helped that some of her fans are absolutely rabid. Holy cheese biscuits, these kids will drop death threats and I have even seen one tell a YTer to kill themselves because they posted a negative story about Jennie.
Also, I don't think YG stepping down is going to change anything. He still owns more shares than any other share holder and he created the company. He will likely have continued creative input and control of business decisions, just not directly from the office anymore.

Where is the facial hair? I assume you might mean peach fuzz on your side burn area and upper lip. Hair removal options can vary for different areas and for how frequently you want to remove the hair.
You can shave (make sure you have softened the hair first with warm water, hold the skin taut when shaving and moisturize afterwards. And for all that is holy shave in the direction the hair grows!!!), wax, thread, laser, professional dermablading....
I shave above my lip and a few spots under my chin with an eyebrow razor. Some people do shave the majority of their face. There is associated upkeep for shaving to avoid ingrown hairs. Depending on the shade of your facial hair you may be able to laser it at a salon.

The humblebrags are intense and rampant in many of their videos and it's crazy, because you can clearly see that no one actually works, so there is no explanation how they are able to afford designer brands. Their YT channel only recently exploded, so revenue from that is not their main income. Some people think that their church is keeping them in $$$.
The comments being disabled is a YouTube decision. Most channels featuring children have their comments auto-disabled by YT due to some creepy people leaving creepy comments on many kids/family accounts. It's site wide. The only way around it, I think, is to commit to screening and policing comments, which in itself would be an intense job for any creator.
I forgot to mention their weird minimalism. I don't mind things like each kid having only one jacket and a few pairs of shoes each (kids grow so fast), but with 10 kids, there are so few toys in the house. It's nice they have so many musical instruments (they used to busk, apparently?), but toys aren't just for distracting kids. They're for fine motor skills, learning, creating, etc.

Taina Licciardo-Toivola - YouTuber, mother of 10 children*, Australian-Finnish vegan, Christian, daughter of a "prophet," seemingly has no job but lives in a mansion and has named her children these delightful names:
One of her kids is married and got engaged to his now-wife two weeks after meeting her (she was sixteen).
Oh, and they all wear white t-shirts and blue jeans. ALL OF THEM.
Something about them is just...off. This Drop Bear demands a thread for this family.

Someone fire her stylist or get her Jennie's stylist. These outfits are hideous. And I'll be the one to say it: they make her look "chunky" by comparison to everyone standing beside her (Somi is NOT overweight by any stretch of the imagination, but these clothes are unflattering and unsuited to her body). When the backup dancers outfits look better than yours, that's when it's time to fire the stylist. These outfits they put Somi in are ugly, unflattering and don't suit the choreography at all. The frills and back hem line on this monstrosity only highlight how little her legs are moving during the song. It makes her look awkward AF and she doesn't need help in that department (though she is looking more confident, her stage presence is still somewhat lacking).
If they gave her even half the attention they gave Jennie...

I just want to throw this out there in case anyone not overly familiar with Kpop or new to the scene thinks YG trash is a slur... many people call themselves "trash" for certain idols, groups or companies because they stan hard. So I'm not insulting anyone, I'm just using a name many YG stans call themselves.
Meanwhile to stay more on topic... I don't like the vibe YG is working with for this debut. I feel like they're trying for edgy but it's Somi. I don't feel like it fits.

Yes, but my point was this (and I thought I was clear?): they debuted her with incomplete choreography, which would only have happened if she was not meant to debut at this time. Yes, they pushed it back from the original date. But I don't think it was meant to be debuted now either; they threw her to the wolves to distract the media from company-wide controversies, and sent her out before she and the song were fully ready.
I'm not a Somi stan, I'm not YG trash (I'm ARMY), but even I can see there are massive problems with this debut and the only explanation is a media play to disassociate YG with scandal in the news.
