i follow that jeonsann girl for a few years now, something that happened a while ago kinda rubbed me up the wrong way. sorry if i can't remember the details correctly but she uploaded a cover onto either yt or instagram and when it didn't reach the target likes she wanted she started going off at her fans and threatened to stop dancing. it was super dramatic. i think it was for a competition or something? anyway i think she's living in korea now. one of her latest videos talked about how she met up for a tinder date with a korean guy and once he saw her irl he turned around walked away hhh i think she has a lot of self esteem issues... she often posts about how she hates the way she looks
- popsicle slaps and the girls did really well with the song, pronounciation and the dancing was on par with most kpop rookie groups - after watching the entire show, i can safely say most of the girls on uhsn aren't koreaboos but won't deny that there definitely are some. some of the girls are super intelligent and quite educated on korean culture and history and are willing to learn more (e.g. livia, luna, vlada, maria, olene) , its funny when people complain about the show they only show the parts where someone did something problematic (?) (the maria , sungwoon situation) but disregard the parts where the girls are actively learning about korean culture and showing enthusiasm towards stuff like history, which majority of kpop fans don't know or give a shit about - ateez is one of the most overrated kpop groups in history, like why are they even so successful? their music sucks and their visuals aren't anything new. i understand the popularity internationally of BTS, blackpink and monsta x but cannot wrap my head around why ateez are so successful these days. i feel generally the same way about loona but will admit their predebut concept was very interesting and something never done before in kpop and they actually have some really good songs. - seeing the armies gas up namjoon's rap in seoul town road is actually laughable - super frustrated about the ikon situation and feel really really bad for the other guys (jinhwan, donghyuk, yunhyeong, chan) as they hardly ever got the spotlight in the group because of hanbin and bobby and now their future is compromised because of that same person. i wouldn't be surprised if they are not friends or in contact with him anymore. that being said i do think the situation was handled wrong but drugs are a big no no in south korea, its not the west and fans need to stop pushing western standards on eastern cultures
how is her editing still soooo bad... literally edited in imovie when she surely has enough money to invest in a better video editor like final cut pro.... her video with safiya was edited so bad which is unfortunate because its going to bring a lot of new viewers to her channel. on another note i have no idea who did the subtitles (english ones) but they were really inaccurate
i think youngseo is definitely mixed, maybe not half but a quarter? she might be learning russian for that reason, to get closer to her russian background. i agree with the fact that there are many idols who have that exotic look (gyuri, jihyo, heejin, vixx ken, etc) but you can still tell they are korean, she looks like she definitely is mixed with something. especially her skin type in the video where she is not wearing makeup because asians have a yellow, glowy undertone and her skin had cold, red undertones not really typical of asian people, also her high nose, moreso making me think shes' mixed. she might be only quarter and trying to push that she is half (contacts, dyed hair) to further push this halfie aesthetic
all the girls are really cute, especially the first one. but they all have that foreigner look that koreans like, so they kinda all look similar? it would be nice for some diversity too. i think maria lacks compared to the rest in visuals but looks like she's the only one with singing talent. it just seems like a smart business move to launch a show with 10 (?) girls from all over the world, they will get quite a lot of viewers; especially with how popular kpop is now, kpop fans from each country will watch. i'm surprised to see chiba erii there, did she leave akb48 for good?
kpop trainee my ass lol. when i watched the video i did think it was kinda harsh what eddie said about the guy not having the visuals to be in whatever company it was but i get where he is coming from now after seeing him in that video.
