oh my god i agree with this 100% i remember when i was watching them (or more specifically lisa) during the talking parts (?)at blackpink concert last year i felt like i was watching a kids concert like jojo siwa or the wiggles... her behaviour was SO juvenile and obviously scripted it made me cringe so hard. i get that they have a lot of young fans but... it was so hard to watch.
I'm fuming that izone's company allowed them to have a fanmeet with the corona virus going around (and korea having the 2nd highest rate of it in the world). at least they were wearing n95 masks... wonyoung had to leave early because she had a coughing fit and chaeyeon because she was feeling lightheaded; apparently because the masks really restrict breathing. i understand they want to see their fans after the hiatus but this was very risky and stupid decision on the company's end.
i was so disappointed with loona's comeback. hi high remains their best title track AND album. all 3 b sides on # sound so similar it is such a downgrade from ++ where every song had a unique sound and style. like other people in the thread have already mentioned, it literally sounds like an itzy song but worse. i also hate the styling, olivia and yves look greasy... i don't see how that is girl crush at all. while i'm here i'll say butterfly was extremely overrated as well, i HATE the prechorus where theres that member singing WINGS WINGS in a really high voice. i think that hi high was totally overlooked because fans can't handle a cute concept; but it suited them so well. one thing that was top notch about all of their releases was the videography, i honestly think their company should just stick to directing music videos. also can i ask why mia is getting pushed so hard by yuehua? she's not exceptionally pretty (sihyeon is MUCH better looking especially according to korean standards) and her voice is forgettable. some are comparing eg to 4minute but at least hyuna had this ~vibe~ where she really stood out from the group. i was getting pissed seeing and hearing mia every 5 seconds in dun dun.
i'm super disappointed.. idols do CF songs all the time and some of them are iconic as hell (girls day- hello bubble, snsd + fx -chocolate love) and it's so sad they didn't give blackpink a chance to do that. the whole situation is so weird, why does yg try SO hard to not let these girls make music?
just saw their apartment video, (ignoring joeys office) it was designed really well and it actually really organised and clean. aki did a good job with it, also she is looking very nice these days; i really liked her outfit in that video. haven't watched anything from her since she has moved to japan but she seems to be taking care of herself really well (such a contrast to joey that looks like a hobo as usual lol)
not sure if any of you guys saw it but HSH recently did an instagram live and it featured jung daeun speaking almost fluent english. some of the notable stuff she said was that her and wonho have the same personality and if you hate her you are also hating wonho. they also laughed together at a comment mentioning wonho's talent. jung daeun's english really took me by surprise and i'm almost certain they are enjoying the attention and probably following what the fans are saying about them on twitter. not sure if it was discussed in his individual thread but Edward also commented on the situation in a video with DKDK (?) and for once I have to agree with him. he said that he wanted to upload a video about it but knew he would get 'cancelled' so he did it in their video instead heres a bit of the livestream: https://twitter.com/HEEJINCY/status/1191537701184512002 and here's the video with edward
i follow that jeonsann girl for a few years now, something that happened a while ago kinda rubbed me up the wrong way. sorry if i can't remember the details correctly but she uploaded a cover onto either yt or instagram and when it didn't reach the target likes she wanted she started going off at her fans and threatened to stop dancing. it was super dramatic. i think it was for a competition or something? anyway i think she's living in korea now. one of her latest videos talked about how she met up for a tinder date with a korean guy and once he saw her irl he turned around walked away hhh i think she has a lot of self esteem issues... she often posts about how she hates the way she looks
- popsicle slaps and the girls did really well with the song, pronounciation and the dancing was on par with most kpop rookie groups - after watching the entire show, i can safely say most of the girls on uhsn aren't koreaboos but won't deny that there definitely are some. some of the girls are super intelligent and quite educated on korean culture and history and are willing to learn more (e.g. livia, luna, vlada, maria, olene) , its funny when people complain about the show they only show the parts where someone did something problematic (?) (the maria , sungwoon situation) but disregard the parts where the girls are actively learning about korean culture and showing enthusiasm towards stuff like history, which majority of kpop fans don't know or give a shit about - ateez is one of the most overrated kpop groups in history, like why are they even so successful? their music sucks and their visuals aren't anything new. i understand the popularity internationally of BTS, blackpink and monsta x but cannot wrap my head around why ateez are so successful these days. i feel generally the same way about loona but will admit their predebut concept was very interesting and something never done before in kpop and they actually have some really good songs. - seeing the armies gas up namjoon's rap in seoul town road is actually laughable - super frustrated about the ikon situation and feel really really bad for the other guys (jinhwan, donghyuk, yunhyeong, chan) as they hardly ever got the spotlight in the group because of hanbin and bobby and now their future is compromised because of that same person. i wouldn't be surprised if they are not friends or in contact with him anymore. that being said i do think the situation was handled wrong but drugs are a big no no in south korea, its not the west and fans need to stop pushing western standards on eastern cultures
how is her editing still soooo bad... literally edited in imovie when she surely has enough money to invest in a better video editor like final cut pro.... her video with safiya was edited so bad which is unfortunate because its going to bring a lot of new viewers to her channel. on another note i have no idea who did the subtitles (english ones) but they were really inaccurate
